Day 12 - Hope

We had small group tonight and discussed Hope and what our hope is in and what the meaning of hope is and how we think about hope.  I think I am learning to put my hope in Christ and recognize that hope is not a wish but is joy in knowing that my hope is fulfilled in Him.  I reminds me of the song we sang so often in RUF.

My hope is built on nothing less
 than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus' name.

On Christ the solid rock I stand,
 all other ground is sinking sand;
all other ground is sinking sand.

When Darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, his covenant, his blood
supports me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay.

When he shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in him be found!
 Dressed in his righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne!

Hebrews 6:10-16

For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise.  For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation.

Today and everyday I am thankful:

121. for Hope fulfilled

122. For our small group and that our church has decided to try small groups on Sunday nights.  Jonathan and I have been so blessed by the comfort and openness in this fellowship with other believers.

123. for conversations with a 2 year old :-)

124. For warm a warm March and kids who want to play outside

125. for a car DVD player and headphones - It is fun to listen to the kids giggle and talk about the movie they are watching and still be able to listen to music and talk to Jonathan on a car ride.

126.  For getting to grow up in Midtown Memphis

127. Wild Flowers picked by little hands and given with big grins and bigger hearts

128. Sleeping babies in car seats - they are so cute and peaceful

129. Driving anywhere with Jonathan.  I think some of our best memories have been made on car trips.  We do a lot of laughing driving from point A to point B. Two memories jump out at me, one was when Jonathan in all honesty tried to tell me that the speed limit was 61 mph b/c that's what the sign said.  Yes, he was looking at the Highway 61 sign.  Another involved an 18-wheeler and passing a car.  I'm smiling just typing about them.

130. Little Feat
