Day 2 - Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! - Philippians 4:4

I read this in my devotional this morning

“The book of nature is an expression of the thoughts of God. We have God's terrible thoughts in the thunder and lightning; God's loving thoughts in the sunshine and the balmy breeze; God's bounteous, prudent, careful thoughts in the waving harvest and in the ripening meadow. We have God's brilliant thoughts in the wondrous scenes which are beheld from mountain-top and valley; and we have God's most sweet and pleasant thoughts of beauty in the little flowers that blossom at our feet. "God giveth us richly all things to enjoy."” - Charles Spurgeon

It was a perfect day for me to read this.  The beautiful taste of spring I woke up to and the little purple flowers that are blooming in the still fallow fields I drive past on my way to work brought a smile to my face because I was thinking of this and of how God gives us such beauty in nature.

Today and every day I am thankful:

11. For God's Word:

Revelation 4:11. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Revelation 21:3-4. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

12. For Calvin and Hobbes - and that Holt enjoys me reading them to him even if he doesn't quite "get" the jokes just yet

13. That I have a husband who will dance with his daughter

14. For unexpected flowers on my desk

15. for this

16. For The Marines and other servicemen (and women) who protect our freedoms

18. That I live in a country where I can worship freely without fear of persecution, unlike so many places in the world

19.  That, when Harper Ann was coughing and restless at 2:00 this morning, I was able to hold her and rock her and sing her lullabies.

20. Getting to watch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington last night

P.S. Willie Nelson make me happy - here's hoping that he keeps making music for years to come
